GEO Monitor

From a one-off snapshot to weekly monitoring

The free check above is a snapshot. GEO Monitor keeps asking on a schedule and stores every full response, so every metric traces back to an answer you can open and read, never a black-box estimate. Here is how it works:

1

Set up your product

Add your domain and describe what your product does. We generate brand-free buyer questions that mirror how real buyers search your category.

2

We ask the engines

Our scanner asks ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and AI Overviews with your questions. Every full response is stored as evidence.

3

You read the receipts

See your visibility score over time, open any raw answer, find who the engines recommend instead, and follow the citation gaps.

What you see inside

A dashboard that shows its work.

A calm instrument panel: one visibility score you can explain, and the stored answers behind it.

  • Visibility score with a week-over-week delta
  • Each buyer question with mentioned or absent result
  • Raw answer excerpts with your brand highlighted
  • Competitors named in the same answers
  • Citation sources the engines linked
  • Accuracy Watch: when engines misstate your facts (Pro)

How often, and for how long

One scan is interesting. The trend is the product.

Once a week is plenty

AI answers do not really move day to day. The models behind them change every few months, and the pages they cite take weeks to be re-crawled and re-weighted. Scanning daily mostly buys you the same answer seven times, plus the noise of normal model variation, which is easy to mistake for a real change.

A weekly scan is frequent enough to catch anything that matters and spaced enough that a move on the chart is a signal rather than a wobble. If something urgent happens, a manual re-scan is there.

The longer the history, the better

A single run is a snapshot. It tells you whether you are named today, which is useful once. It cannot tell you whether you are gaining or losing, whether the page you rewrote made any difference, or whether a competitor is climbing.

Those are week-over-week questions, and they need a baseline. After a month you can see direction. After a quarter you can tell what actually worked. Every scan is stored, so the history keeps compounding – Starter keeps 12 months, Pro keeps 24.

This is also why we do not sell a daily plan. It would cost you more and tell you less.

Simple monitoring plans

Choose the evidence you need.

Starter tells you whether AI engines name you. Pro tells you why they do not, and which pages to go fix.

Why it matters

Why AI search visibility matters for your SaaS

Software buying is quietly moving off the search results page. Instead of typing a query and scanning ten blue links, founders and teams increasingly ask ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google's AI Overviews a direct question, like “what's the best inventory tool for a small Shopify store?”, and act on the handful of products the AI names. That shift is what people mean by Generative Engine Optimization (GEO): being one of the tools an answer engine actually recommends, not just a link buried on page one.

The problem is that most founders have zero visibility into this. You can rank well on Google and still be completely absent from AI answers, because answer engines draw on structured, consistent, citeable sources rather than your marketing homepage alone. If a competitor shows up in those answers and you don't, you lose deals you never even knew existed. There is no impression, no click, no trace in your analytics.

The fix is not a trick. Engines recommend products they can quote with confidence: clear machine-readable facts, consistent naming everywhere, and structured third-party sources worth citing, which is exactly what a provenance-labelled directree listing is built to be. The free check at the top of this page tells you where you stand today. GEO Monitor tells you whether the things you change actually move the answers.

Plain answers

Frequently asked questions

What is GEO (Generative Engine Optimization)?
GEO is the practice of making your product visible and citeable inside AI-generated answers, the responses ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Copilot give when someone asks for software recommendations. Where traditional SEO optimizes for a ranked list of blue links, GEO optimizes for being the tool an AI names and links when a buyer asks a question. As more software discovery moves to zero-click AI answers, GEO visibility increasingly decides whether a founder ever hears about you.
Is the check free?
Yes. Enter your domain and we run three real AI-buyer questions at no cost and with no account required. Results are cached for 30 days, so re-checking the same domain within that window is instant and free.
How is this different from a normal SEO or rank tracker?
A rank tracker tells you where you sit in Google's blue links. This tells you whether an AI answer engine actually mentions your product when a buyer asks a real question, a completely different surface. We do not estimate a score: we send genuine questions to a live model with web search enabled and detect whether your brand and domain appear in the raw response.
Does ChatGPT really recommend specific products?
Yes. When users ask questions like “what are the best CRM tools” or “what's a good alternative to X”, AI assistants routinely name specific products, often with links. If your product is missing from those answers, you are invisible to a fast-growing share of buyers who never open a search results page at all.
Why does my SaaS not appear in AI answers?
AI answer engines lean on structured, consistent, citeable sources. Products with clear, machine-readable facts, third-party listings and consistent naming across the web get cited far more than products whose information only lives on their own marketing site. A structured, honesty-labelled directory listing (like directree) is one of the most direct ways to become a source an AI will cite.
How do I improve my GEO visibility?
Make your facts easy for a machine to quote: publish clear pricing and feature information, keep your product name consistent everywhere, earn structured third-party listings, and expose machine-readable data. Our step-by-step guide and the free directree listing walk through exactly what moves the needle.
Can you make ChatGPT rank me #1?
No. GEO measures what engines say, stores the receipts, and shows citation gaps. Nobody can honestly promise a #1 AI answer.
Does it change my directree listing?
No. GEO tracks AI engines like ChatGPT and Perplexity. It has zero effect on your directree listing or ranking.
